MEASURES

Sustainable development requires concrete measures across all areas and aspects of a sporting event. The catalogue of measures therefore provides a comprehensive collection of possible actions designed to make sporting events more environmentally friendly, socially responsible and economically sustainable.

Furthermore, good practices and interviews with experienced organisers offer practical insights into how measures can be implemented, how any challenges that arise can be overcome, and how initial steps towards sustainability can be taken.

The measures self-check can be used to check which of the relevant measures in the 17 action areas have already been implemented and where there is still potential for improvement.

CATALOGUE OF MEASURES

The measures are listed in the catalogue of measures, organised according to the 17 action areas of action and their targets and sub-targets.

FAQ - CATALOGUE OF MEASURES

The catalogue of measures contains over 600 measures that make sporting events more environmentally friendly, socially acceptable and economically responsible.

In the catalogue of measures, the measures can be filtered by action area, targets of the action areas and functional areas of the event. In addition, only ‘entry measures’ can be displayed or measures for ‘mega events’ can be hidden.

An explanation of the measure and an estimate of the potential impact and cost are available by expanding the measure.

Entry measures are particularly suitable if the aim is to take the first steps towards a sustainable sporting event, as the potential impact is considered to be relatively high and the cost involved low.
