CONTROL AREAS

Sustainably planning and running a sporting event requires management processes to be implemented and certain administrative and organisational requirements to be met. This includes clear allocation of responsibilities. These requirements are dealt with in the upstream and higher-level control areas. The term control area refers to overarching requirements regarding organisational structures and activities that are necessary in order to integrate sustainability aspects into the organisation of the sporting event. It is therefore advisable to look at these control areas for every sporting event. The following control areas are currently planned: Strategy Development, Human rights, Participation, Communication, Funding and Reporting.
