THREE PARTNERS - ONE PROJECT
The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), as the umbrella organization of German sport, represents over 27 million athletes in Germany and contributes its extensive expertise in sports organization and sports policy to the project. The DOSB plays a leading role in the project network and is responsible for strategic coordination at the interface to politics, clients, member organizations and municipal umbrella organizations.
The German Sport University Cologne (DSHS) is responsible for the technical project management and uses its sound scientific know-how and interdisciplinary expertise in the field of major sporting events. As an internationally recognized sports university, the DSHS and its participating institutes are setting new standards and developing pioneering, sustainable concepts and strategies for sports events.
The Institute for Applied ecology (Öko-Institut e.V.) is a leading institution in the field of environmental research and climate protection - also for major sporting events. With in-depth analyses and practice-oriented recommendations, the institute is responsible for these fields of action and ensures that a tangible contribution is made to protecting the environment and conserving resources.
