COMMITMENT FROM SOCIETY
WHAT IS BEHIND THE ACTION AREA OF COMMITMENT FROM SOCIETY?
Promote and valorise social commitment: Involvement of society through various participation formats leads to acceptance and support of the sporting event and enriches its image both internally and externally. Marginalised population groups (see AA Diversity and participation) should be given special consideration.
The commitment of volunteers plays a central role in this context: This is a special and indispensable pillar of every sporting event. Volunteers associate their commitment with great benefits for their own well-being, personal development and social coexistence, among other things. Furthermore, their involvement harbours potential for a longer-term commitment to sport and for the acquisition of skills that can be used in sport and beyond.

FURTHER TARGETS
Action areas serve to divide up the complex topic of sustainability for operationalisation. However, there are many overlaps between the fields of action. For example, although the following objectives belong to the topic of commitment from society, they are dealt with in detail in other action areas.
