EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

WHAT IS BEHIND THE ACTION AREA OF EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT?

Promote knowledge and action skills for a sustainable transformation: Transformative Education for Sustainable Development (ESD ) at sporting events aims to promote knowledge, awareness and agency to empower people – especially young people – to change themselves and society. Practical and innovative methods are used to support the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The values of sport, such as fair play, respect, team spirit and reliability, are given special consideration throughout all of this, in line with the basic values of a democratic society. 

 

TARGETS AND SUB-TARGETS

  1. Sustainability-related knowledge transfer measures are implemented for various relevant stakeholders.
     
  2. Sustainability-related measures are implemented to raise awareness and promote agency for various relevant stakeholders.
     
  3. Teaching staff and disseminators for ESD are trained and deployed. 
     
  4. Learning and experience centres for ESD are created. 
     
  5. ESD measures are implemented through local, national and international communities/partner networks/NGOs. 

  1. Sustainability-related measures are carried out to promote knowledge, raise awareness and promote agency, especially for young people.

FURTHER TARGETS

Action areas serve to divide up the complex topic of sustainability for operationalisation. However, there are many overlaps between the fields of action. For example, although the following objectives belong to the topic of waste, they are dealt with in detail in other action areas.
