INNOVATION AND DIGITALISATION

WHAT IS BEHIND THE INNOVATION AND DIGITALISATION ACTION AREA?

Promoting innovation and digitalisation as a lever for sustainable development: Innovation plays a decisive role in the socio-ecological transformation of sporting events. Through technological innovations, innovative processes and progressive ways of thinking, sporting events can not only be further developed, but also turned into sustainable and unique experiences for athletes and visitors alike.

It is important to emphasise that innovation should not be pursued solely for its own sake. Rather, targeted use is recommended in order to drive social transformation. Against this backdrop, innovations should be geared towards promoting sustainable practices, increasing resource efficiency and establishing socially responsible standards.

In this context, the integration of digitalisation into sporting events offers numerous opportunities. From software solutions for centralised data collection and analysis to the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies and the creation of a barrier-free event experience for visitors through digital interpreters.
