RESOURCE CYCLE
WHAT IS BEHIND THE RESOURCE CYCLE ACTION AREA?
Minimising the use of resources and promoting the resource cycle: Material resources such as production goods and raw materials as well as immaterial resources such as labour time and usage rights should be used in a continuous cycle to enable long-term economic activity. This cycle aims to promote long-term economic efficiency by utilising resources efficiently and reusing them in various phases of the sporting event and beyond. The integration of circular economy principles into economic decisions aims to minimise environmental impacts and ensure long-term resource efficiency. This requires that economic decisions not only focus on short-term profits, but also take ecological and social aspects into account.
The resource cycle at sporting events promotes socially responsible business practices and fair trading conditions by taking social and ethical criteria into account in the procurement of resources and services. This can include, for example, supporting local communities, ensuring fair working conditions or promoting inclusion. The integration of environmental and social standards into economic decision-making processes ensures that economic activities during the sporting event are socially fair and ecologically compatible, thus enabling long-term economic activity.
