SPORT AND CLUB DEVELOPMENT
WHAT IS BEHIND THE SPORTS AND CLUB DEVELOPMENT ACTION AREA?
Encourage people to take part in sport and promote structural development in and through sport: Sporting events provide an opportunity to emphasise the importance of sport and physical activity and thus motivate people to lead a healthier lifestyle. This can have a long-term impact on the health and well-being of each and every individual. Encouraging sporting activity supports social integration and talent development, which has a positive impact on the community and strengthens club sports.
Sporting events specifically promote the development of sport, clubs and associations – both in the respective venues and in Germany as a whole. Sporting events should support the development and strengthening of professional structures, also with regard to sustainability management. They provide impetus for further developing sport and exercise programmes, give as many people as possible access to sport and help them commit to sports clubs. Sporting events offer opportunities for networking and co-operation between relevant stakeholders in and outside of sport in order to strengthen it regionally and nationally.
